Fandom Category: Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol
Pairing: Jane Carter/William Brandt
Fic Title: Needy, Desperate, Greedy
Rating/Warning(s): M/NC-17. Warnings for dirty talk
Why This Must Be Read: Jane has to work her wiles on a mark, but has trouble getting into character as it's a particularly repulsive mark. Brandt proves he's a team player and helps her get "in the mood" by regaling her over the comms with the hottest dirty talk I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I could imagine Jeremy Renner's voice as I was reading and I think I may have actually whimpered a little. Seriously guh-inducing. It's evident that Brandt isn't just making things up off the cuff--he's been imagining it for a long time, and Jane clearly reciprocates judging by the ending. *g* Plus, Benji provides fantastic comic relief.
Day 4: A fic that demonstrates how a pairing with little canon romantic chemistry/interaction can totally work.
Fandom Category: Thor/The Avengers
Pairing: Darcy Lewis/Phil Coulson
Fic Title: I Never Saw You Coming, Love (You Took Me By Surprise)
Rating/Warning(s): E/NC-17. Warnings for explicit sex
Why This Must Be Read: The author has written several Darcy/Phil stories, but this one is by far my favorite. She really takes the time to set up the pairing and show us just why Darcy and Phil work so well together and all of the little things they adore about each other. Both of these characters are fully fleshed out with wonderfully humanizing quirks. And there is glorious, glorious sexing. Just a really gorgeous piece.
Day 5: A fic with the best kiss/sex scene
Fandom Category: The Unusuals
Pairing: Casey Shraeger/Jason Walsh, past Allison Beaumont/Jason Walsh, and dalliances with various OCs on both of the characters' parts
Fic Title: Lies To Buy Myself Some Time
Why This Must Be Read: The show was very clear that Casey and Walsh were purely platonic, and they both have other canon love interests. That has never stopped shippers, such as myself, who have a weakness for partners falling in love. This story does a fantastic job of eventually bringing the two together and the ending of their previous relationships are treated plausibly and sympathetically. The UST is ugh, so good, and the eventual consummation of said UST is brain meltingly hot. I'm pretty sure it's impossible for this author to write bad smut.
