Several Star Wars recommendations

Now that I only have one day left of my month, I keep thinking of more stories to recommend ;) Not sure how many I will have time to write up before tomorrow, but I'll try my best!

Fandom Category: Star Wars
Pairing: Leia Organa/Han Solo
Fic Title: Everyone Drinks in Hell
Author: Vader-incarnate
Link: Fanfiction.net
Rating/Warning(s): PG-13
Genre: AU, angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 16/20

Why This Must Be Read: In an AU universe where the Rebellion lost the Battle of Endor, Han and Leia meet in a cantina ten years later.

This story is dark-- Han's eyesight returned too slowly after Jabba's palace to let him , but it's also just a little bit hopeful. And the narrative voice is just perfect.

Fandom Category: Star Wars
Pairing: Mara Jade/Luke Skywalker
Fic Title: The Long Road Home
Author: Melissa Boberick
Link: ClubJade
Rating/Warning(s): Teen, probably
Genre: Romance
WIP?: Complete
Special Rec: 17/20

Why This Must Be Read: I don't really know why, but this was the first Luke/Mara story that I read and actually liked, back in the late '90s. (I was very anti-Luke/Mara until the Hand of Thrawn duology came out; I have since seen the light.) I just like the way they interact with each other here; it feels like a natural progression and not forced at all.

Fandom Category: Star Wars
Pairing: Siri Tachi/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Fic Title: A Jedi Shall Not Know Love
Author: red_rose_knight
Link: Fanfiction.net
Rating/Warning(s): Teen, character death
Genre: Romance, angst, tragedy
WIP?: Complete
Special Rec: 18/20

Why This Must Be Read: This is a story about Obi-Wan and Siri, but more than that, it's a story about loss, about choosing duty over love, and about the incredible strength of will it requires to do that. The prequels gloss over this aspect of Jedi culture and what it really means, in my opinion. Anakin and Padme break the rules and rationalize it, but how many Jedi held themselves to that standard and broke their own hearts in the process? This story acknowledges that Jedi are human (or at least humanoid), they're going to fall in love, but that they choose to put that feeling aside even when it hurts them.

Fandom Category:
Pairing: Mara Jade/Luke Skywalker
Fic Title: A Different View
Author: Jaded
Link: Fanfiction.net
Rating/Warning(s): PG
Genre: Romance
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 19/20

Why This Must Be Read: After Callista's departure, Luke and Mara realize that there's more to their relationship but the timing isn't right, and they agree to wait until it is.

This story edges really close to being too sweet in places, but I think it manages to pull back from the edge with a joke or a distraction most of the time. It's just a happy, hopeful little story. (There is also a sequel, Across A Crowded Room, although it is more gen than het as it features a lot of other characters.)
