There are two things that split people on this: it's movieverse, and that's anathema to some people, and it's Susan/Caspian, which is... also anathema to some people. </lj>This is the alternate universe in which the Pevensies don't leave Narnia at the end of Prince Caspian and it's wonderfully teased out in every respect. kitoky has a great way of portraying all of the layers succinctly and perfectly. Also, I use tragedy in the dramatic sense as well as to warn about the death toll: watching the Narnian rulers from a stable status quo and the consequences of a few small actions as they play out to their conclusion is heart-rending, made even more so by the understated, natural comedy at the start and the competency and sensible characters as they're portrayed. </lj>
