Why This Must Be Read: The young, beautiful cast of The 100 certainly lend themselves to rock band AUs and this a gorgeously written example of the genre that weaves its way through the various artistic and romantic encounters of privileged but frustrated industry princess, Clarke, and talented upstart Bellamy Blake. United by a very different set of circumstances, Bellamy and Clarke develop a familiar dynamic of mutual respect and unflagging emotional support. Interesting characterisations of the wider ensemble as their two bands travel together makes this romantic gem a masterpiece.

An AU where Clark doesn't come to Metropolis or become Superman during the events of Season 1. Lois retreats to a farm in the middle of nowhere to recover from her failed wedding to Lex Luthor.

Why This Must Be Read: This is just a lovely, lyrical piece about being broken and finding the strength to heal. Lois starts out in a haze of depression and exhaustion and slowly finds her way out of the fog, with help from the Kents.

"After being turned down for a job at the Daily Planet, a dejected Clark Kent attempts to drown his sorrows at the Stardust Lounge, where he meets a beautiful and mysterious woman calling herself Wanda Detroit."

Why This Must Be Read: Lois and Clark start out this story in conflict, but beneath it all is the strong sense that these two characters want to be together and just have to work out how to get there. It's really sweet to watch them figure it out.
