Why This Must Be Read: A poignant but hopeful story. This is what comes after the return to the Citadel. Mind you, there are no miracles, but there is hope and love. And patience.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a short, evocative fic, where Max comes back to the Citadel after half a year away and Furiosa shaves him. There’s the subtle threat of violence and the deep trust of baring your throat for someone and the newness of being aware of somebody physically, all at once:

“I can’t promise not to cut you,” she tells him, and the noise he makes is close to a laugh.

Furiosa drags the blade down one side of his face, the slight hollows of his cheek, the gentle curve of his jaw. He makes a sound, a sharp intake of breath, and the knife skips, and a spot of red blooms.

Why This Must Be Read:Author's Description: This is how Nick Charles met Nora Forrest. I totally buy this version of events as to how Nick and Nora meet. Fabrisse is spot on with the witty banter and the underlying flirting that these two are known for. It is a delightful read that makes you want to revisit the movie.
