Why This Must Be Read: It's season 1 Christmas fluff, featuring the ensemble. I laughed a lot (especially at Scully and Hitchcock) as the precinct celebrates Christmas and Jake and Amy flirt in their own special way.

Why This Must Be Read: The fic for the Lord Peter books was excellent as a whole this Yuletide, and this story was by far my favorite of the bunch: it places Harriet and Peter in a universe where a person’s soulmate appears on their arm when they turn twenty-one, which means that the two end up meeting in much different circumstances (just after the events of Strong Poison) and at very, very different (younger) times in both of their lives.

And it is SO. VERY. GOOD. I would never have thought an AU of these two characters without their entire messy, canonical history behind them could be so fascinating but it is - reading this was like discovering a new facet of much-beloved characters to ship, which made my heart do summersaults. And the worldbuilding is amazing - expansive, wiggling its way into all the corners of the post-WWI time period, and affecting Peter’s cases. I only wish there was more to read in this AU 'verse.
