Why This Must Be Read: House is kind of a strange fandom for me - I'm really only drawn to the subsection of fanfiction that deals with how House and Cuddy knew each other during their college days at the University of Michigan (seriously: it's a pretty narrow focus). Of those college-era fics, this is one of my favorites. "Jigsaw" tells the story of House and Cuddy's one night stand, back when this sort of thing was all speculation, and ties everything in perfectly to their later relationship - snarky and sexy with a shadow of bitterness.

Why This Must Be Read: Maybe it's her words. Maybe it's just the satin feel of her fingers against my jaw or the anguish in her eyes. Whatever it is, it's darker than magic and hotter than the sun.

According to the author, this story features Elena/Stefan in theory, but Elena/Damon in action.  This fic is fantastic - the writing is awesome and her Damon POV is pitch-perfect.  This story is angsty, bitter, hot and angry, and just what I wanted to read after the last several episodes.  Truly excellent.
