The Paladin Protocol by SpaceAnJL

Fandom Category: The Big Bang Theory
Pairing: Penny/Sheldon Cooper
Fic Title: The Paladin Protocol
Author: SpaceAnJL
Rating/Warning(s): PG-13 for swearing and implied sexy-times
Genre: Romance with some angst
WIP?: No

Why This Must Be Read: This is my all time favourite epic story in the BBT world. It takes off from late season 3, and spins a fantastic world where Penny embraces her inner warrior-strength, Leonard is forced to confront what a horrible friend/boyfriend he's been, and Sheldon grows up and lets the world touch his heart. What makes this story for me is that it is filled with so much beautiful and occasionally painful character insight, for the entire gang but especially Sheldon, Penny, and Leonard. The author is gently humorous and lets the characters and relationships develop through evolution, not contrivance. And the fic clocks in at a little over 90,000 words, so there's lots of funny, sweet, awkward, adorable Shenny goodness.

Challenge rec 77 - Elsie Hughes/Charles Carson-Downton Abbey rec

Fandom Category: Downton Abbey
Pairing: Elsie Hughes/Charles Carson
Fic Title: Seasons
Author: Onesimus
Link: Seasons
Rating/Warning(s): M
Genre: Romance/Angst
WIP?: No

Why This Must Be Read: In my mind this is the ultimate fic for this wish-ship. It has everything angst, young Charles and Elsie, secret romance, heart break, reconcilation. Onesimus is a wonderful author for this couple. Both character's voices are captured brilliantly. It's just the perfect story to start with if you are a lover of Mr Carson and Mrs Hughes. I should also mention the smut is smokin hot and oh so good.

Two Peas in a Pod, or Why Cuddy Hated Being on Crutches by severuslovesme (PG-13)

Fandom Category: House
Pairing: Lisa Cuddy/Gregory House
Fic Title: Two Peas in a Pod, or Why Cuddy Hated Being on Crutches
Author: severuslovesme
Rating/Warning(s): PG-13 / none
Genre: Humor, Romance
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 26/30

Why This Must Be Read: Excellent dialogue, great characterization, this author has Cuddy and House's back and forth dynamic down. We all know that House just can't help pulling on Cuddy's metaphorical pigtails, and the different ways he goes about it in this piece will just make you laugh.

“Well, well, well,” House said, walking through her open office door.

Leaning on his good leg he lifted his cane to point at her triumphantly.

“It seems as though the crippler has become the cripple…eee.”
