upon the hour of her desire, by Bonbaru (R)

Fandom Category: Moonlight
Pairing: Beth Turner/Mick St. John
Fic Title: upon the hour of her desire
Author: bonibaru
Rating/Warning(s): R, for sex.
Genre: Aliens Werewolves made us do it
WIP?: no

Why This Must Be Read: I think one of the other reviewers on this said it best: I've read several variations on the standard "aliens made me do it" trope in a variety of fandoms -- well done, it's a trope I love, and I have to say that "werewolves turned me into a sex slave and made us do it" has got to be right up there with my favorite variations. *g* And it made perfect sense to me for Josef to go for Beth to help. Nicely done!

Synchronized Swimming, by 51stCenturyFox (T)

Fandom Category: Moonlighting
Pairing: David Addison/Maddie Hayes
Fic Title: Synchronized Swimming
Author: 51stCenturyFox
Rating/Warning(s): Teen
Genre: Humor
WIP?: no

Why This Must Be Read: This is a Moonlighting fic, not to be confused with the other rec I just posted a second ago, which was of the vampire show Moonlight. What can I say, I was googleing and struck gold twice? This fic is just priceless. Great banter and laugh out loud lines, and the characterization is pitch perfect. I know we all think of this show as the one that set the trend of "don't let the two main leads hook up or it'll ruin the show" cliche, which eventually is cited as the reason for why a lot of our favored pairings these days never hook up onscreen, but really? I think the RST had absolutely nothing to do with the downfall, and it was all about the show's writing in general that went down hill.

But damn it all to hell: this fic does show how scrumptious their UST banter was.

"Successful Secrets of the Sexual Kind" by atrata, NC-17

Fandom Category: Iron Man
Pairing: Tony/Pepper
Fic Title: Successful Secrets of the Sexual Kind
Author: atrata
Rating/Warning(s): NC-17
Genre: Romance, UST
WIP?: No

Why This Must Be Read: The summary says it all: "Five times they don't have sex, and think about it anyway." So much of Tony and Pepper's relationship hinges on the things they don't say and don't act on, and this fic really personifies that for me. This story is hot (very hot!) and yet, due to the fantasy element, still restrained and full of UST and wistful at the same time. It's a wonderfully written look at the unacknowledged tension between Tony and Pepper, with loads of sexy and just the right amount of bittersweet.
