The Carrick - PG-13

Fandom Category: INCEPTION
Pairing: Dom/Ariadne, past Arthur/Ariadne, eventual Arthur/Eames
Fic Title: THE CARRICK, PG-13
Author: thursdaysgirl
Link:community.livejournal.com/swirlscribbles/16247.html
Rating/Warning(s): Spoilers for the movie, language, blah blah the usual. Some Arthur/Eames
Genre: Scifi/Suspense
WIP?: Yup it is done.
Why This Must Be Read: The most mature, most well plotted of the Dom/Ariadne fics in the LJ community. It is by far the longest fic in this ship. The romantic angle organically flows from the main story itself and thankfully Ariadne is not depicted as some sophomore undergrad. The tone is definitely adult and not YA.

The Irreplacability of Things Lost, NC-17

Fandom: INCEPTION/BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 2003
Title:
The Irreplacability of Things Lost, NC-17
Author:  [info]kag523
Characters/Pairings:  Kara/Lee/Zak; Dom/Mal/Ariadne if you squint
Current Chapter Rating:  M for mature subject matter
Summary:  In the Colonial Forces Black Ops Division, the skills of Dom Cobb are brought into play in order to retrieve the consciousnesses of two officers - Lee Adama and Kara Thrace - trapped in an ongoing dream-state. Spoilers for both Inception and the BSG series.
Genre: SCIFI

WIP?: Complete
Why this fic?: Follows much of BSG and Inception canon, although for Inception it is mostly post-movie. All characters have stayed in character. Though there is romance the overall scifiness of the whole piece is front and center. The balance of both fandoms in the story is very well maintained.

Under the Influence by Djinn (PG-13)

Fandom: M*A*S*H
Pairing: Margaret "Hotlips" Houlihan/Benjamin "Hawkeye" Pierce
Fic Title: Under the Influence
Author: Djinn
Link: http://www.djinnslair.com/UnderInfluence.htm
Rating/Warning(s): PG-13
Genre: Character
WIP? No
Special Rec: 2/31

Why This Must Be Read: Ever wondered what happened to Hotlips and Hawkeye after? Djinn takes a fairly common what-if (Hotlips and Hawkeye reunite in America) but does so in one of the most realistic ways I've seen yet. Just like in the show, these characters are not perfect. They have flaws, they have issues-- they may have survived the war, but their battles aren't over yet. The writing is clear and easy to read, the second-person pov handled extremely well. You can't help but feel for this Hotlips and Hawkeye.

Rating/Warning(s): NC-17
Genre: Romance
WIP?: no

Summary
: "The first time it happens, it’s purely accidental. Ariadne will swear that up and down." In which Ariadne gets awfully friendly with her projections.

Why This Must Be Read
: I've been waiting and waiting for the dream-kink fic, and this one is supremely satisfying. Also, bonus!Eames. :D Completely rereadable.

Long Live the Queen by monimala (R)

Fandom: Aliens
Pairing: Ellen Ripley/Dwayne Hicks
Fic Title: Long Live the Queen
Author: monimala
Link: http://monimala.livejournal.com/654248.html
Rating/Warning(s): R
Genre: Drama
WIP? No
Special Rec: 3/31

Why This Must Be Read: This is Hicks and Ripley after, no longer in space, no longer running, just trying to adapt (and survive) to a world neither really thought they'd see again. This is about family, and how it's not perfect, not a happily-ever-after, but it is real, it's survival, and it's them together.

Clearly written, with lovely characterisations. This story is awesome.
