Four AU recs (various fandoms and ships)
Fandom: Dawson's Creek
Pairing: Joey Potter/Pacey Witter
Title: and I can almost see
Author: finkpishnets
Link: AO3
Rating/Warning(s): General Audiences, none.
Word Count/WIP?: 1,764 words, no.
Recced on LiveJournal By: profshallowness

Type of AU: Soulmark AU.
Why This Must Be Read: Because this fandom of all fandoms should have soulmate-identifying-mark fic. Joey over-thinks it all, of course.

She knows it like she knows the steps between her house and Dawson’s window, or every line of E.T., or when Pacey’s going to drop a smartass comment to ruin any semblance of a meaningful moment.

Fandom: E.R.
Pairing: Neela Rasgotra/Ray Barnett
Title: Let the Rest of the World Go By
Author: anxietygrrl
Link: LJ
Rating/Warning(s): General audiences?, war themes.
Word Count/WIP?: 2,500. No.
Recced on LiveJournal By: profshallowness

Type of AU: World War 1 AU.
Why This Must Be Read: It’s a lovely and fitting transplantation of Neela and her co-workers into this period. And anxietygrrl is one of the best Neela/Ray writers – if you check out the ship tag, her name does crop up.

Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Nymphadora Tonks/Remus Lupin
Title: Defence against the Dark
Author: Raven (singlecrow)
Link: AO3
Rating/Warning(s): It’s not rated, but I don’t think there’s anything to lift it beyond General Audience. It discusses mental ill-health.
Word Count/WIP?: 1,840 words. No.
Recced on LiveJournal By: profshallowness

Type of AU: Non-magical AU.
Why This Must Be Read: I really liked the transposition to a non-magical universe, the mood created between the characters and the back-and-forth of the dialogue.

Fandom: Northanger Abbey
Pairing: Catherine Morland/Henry Tilney
Title: The Mysteries of the Astronomy Tower
Author: metonymy
Link: AO3
Rating/Warning(s): General Audience, none.
Word Count/WIP?: 1,280 words. No.
Recced on LiveJournal By: profshallowness

Type of AU: Hogwarts/Harry Potter AU.
Why This Must Be Read: Because it’s a Harry Potter fusion! Also, it’s charming fun.
