Erlkönig by Subtilior (M)
When I saw this month's theme was surreal stories I immediately thought of this fic:

Fandom: Labyrinth
Pairing: Sarah Williams/Jareth
Title: Erlkönig
Author: Subtilior
Link: Here
Rating/Warning(s): Mature/non-con
Word Count/WIP?: 45,913/No
Recced on LiveJournal By: Honor_Reid
Special Rec: 1 of 41

Why This Must Be Read: Author's Summary: Sarah takes Toby to a concert of art song. It is the darkest evening of the year. Words have power. Songs can be magic. And undying love can be more terrible than beautiful. A word of warning this is a dark, dark story.  It is a story told in the vein of the old fairytales where catching the attention of the fae world was something to be avoided at all costs. Jareth is written in all of his goblin king glory, he is not human and this story showcases his otherworldliness to perfection. Years have passed since the events of the movie, Sarah who is now a college student is just trying to take her kid brother to a concert.  What Sarah doesn't know is that she is about to go on a journey where she starts to question the very fabric of reality.  It is so well written you will question it right along with her.  At times Sarah's fate feels like a runaway train whose destination is inevitable.  This story will draw you in and not let you go until the end.

Seconding this rec! The Erlkönig remains one of my faves in all it's creepy glory, and is one of the best versions of a dark Jareth, IMO. I would put it firmly in the non-con category though, so tread lightly if that's something you watch out for.

It is a great story! I put dub-con on there because that is what the author had it listed as but I think You are right so I will add the non-con warning . Thanks!

May I also recommend the beautiful companion art piece drawn by Laby writer/artist Pika-la-Cynique? :)
