Fandom: What's Your Number
Pairing: Ally Darling/Colin Shea
Title: Slow Play
Author: IamShadow21
Link: ao3
Rating/Warning(s): explicit
Word Count/WIP?: 2357
Recced on LiveJournal By: throwingpens
Special Rec: 27 of 30
Why This Must Be Read: What's Your Number is a movie about sex, though the definition of sex might vary greatly from person to person. Honestly? The first half reminds me a lot of high school -- and I think that's the point of it-- and the second half is adult relationship conversation. I loved the juxtaposition and I think it really works here.

Fandom: What's Your Number
Pairing: Ally Darling/Colin Shea
Title: Be The Change
Author: torigates
Link: ao3
Rating/Warning(s): explicit
Word Count/WIP?: 6148
Recced on LiveJournal By: throwingpens
Special Rec: 28 of 30
Why This Must Be Read: Colin's kind of an asshole. A very very hot asshole, but an asshole nevertheless. Why is he the way he is with women? I think torigates does an awesome job of breaking down that motivation and also why he's willing to try to be different with Ally.

Fandom: How I Met Your Mother
Pairing: Robin Scherbatsky/Barney Stinson
Title: Vices
Author: htbthomas
Link: ao3
Rating/Warning(s): explicit
Word Count/WIP?: 1098
Recced on LiveJournal By: throwingpens
Special Rec: 29 of 30
Why This Must Be Read: 2009 was a ROUGH time to be a BROtp shipper. Barney and Robin know each other really freaking well, and that goes doubly so for their vices. (Written for Porn Battle VII.)

Fandom: New Girl
Pairing: Jess Day/Nick Miller
Title: Half as Happy
Author: blithers
Link: ao3
Rating/Warning(s): explicit
Word Count/WIP?: 19715
Recced on LiveJournal By: throwingpens
Special Rec: 30 of 30
Why This Must Be Read: I struggled to figure out what to rec for Nick & Jess because blithers had already recommended several of my favorites. And then I realized -- she obviously didn't rec her own post-season-2 road trip fic.

The concept of the Great American Road Trip is one of the most romantic and special notions I've ever had in my head. Somehow, all of the feelings I've felt are captured here, and the sense memory of the road that make everything magnified ten times. For friends becoming more than that, a road trip is the perfect backdrop. Though in canon, Nick and Jess went to Mexico, I love this version that juxtaposes Road! Nick and Jess with Loft! Nick and Jess, which distinguishes it from the couple of other road trip stories I've read.

It's also really in-character.

And really, REALLY hot.
