Why This Must Be Read: This is my last special rec for the month so I decided to go with the first fan fiction I loved enough to bookmark on del.icio.us and I've read it several times over the years — a feel good read, if you will. BATB fandom seems to adore the amnesia trope and so do I (it also helps that a lot of amnesia is canon) but most of the time Vincent is the victim and Catherine assists him in remembering his life and her. Lea turns the tables by setting up a plausible scenario in which Catherine is the one with amnesia and has turned her private dreams into a reality for ten days. A wonderfully romantic AU that hits the spot for a bit of all genres.

Why This Must Be Read: Smilla is incredible at setting up a credible pwp that is not so much a pwp as it is a glimpse into a moment of character motivation that just happens to involve very hot sex— and this fic is spot-on for this particular talent. Dean and Ellen come together with sparks but also in a way that honors their canon characterizations while pushing them a bit farther.

Why This Must Be Read: This is actually mostly Darcy/Hulk--Bruce has yet to make an appearance but oh man is there a hilarious misunderstanding of that situation on Darcy's part. In any case, Hulk saves Darcy from the Chitauri and pretty much falls in love with her at first sight. From then on, whenever he's in Hulk form, he makes an effort to go see her and it is adorable. Seriously, people, this will give you so many Hulk feels you won't even know what to do with yourself. And Darcy is just...a;sdfasdf, so perfect, with her fabulous wit and her unconditional acceptance of the Hulk. So, so good. Highly recommended

Why This Must Be Read: This is a fantastic, long, plotty read. Bruce goes off the grid again and Natasha is sent to bring him back in. There's some incredible characterization and meta in here. Bruce and Natasha are really just 2 sides of the same coin and it is fascinating to read. Bruce isn't sure whether he's being manipulated and honestly, neither is the reader. I don't have words to describe how glorious this is. Just read it and lavish praise on the author because this is tremendous.
