Why This Must Be Read: MeraNamJoker is an incredible author, not only because of her clever, solid writing, but because she is a master of authentic and moving character voices. She writes Bella Swan in a way that is tough, fragile, and charming, and best of all, she makes you get why supernatural guys would fall for her, in spite of the fact that she has more baggage than the TSA. In particular, Mera's multi-chapters are well-plotted, funny, hot, and satisfying joys to read -- "Holding Sam," "Better Now," and (the previously reccomended here by me) "Miror Qaenam Sis Tam Bella" are the kinds of stories that will keep you up reading past your bedtime and stick in your head for days, or weeks, afterwards. I really cannot recommend her work highly enough.

Slipping this in just under the wire. The hinge on my laptop broke, so I'm trying to type while bracing the screen with my knees.

Why This Must Be Read: Putting Susan and the Doctor together is one of those combinations that never occurred to me until I encountered it here. The awesomeness inherent in his pairing just clicked for me as I read this story: Susan is wise and brilliant and practical, a Queen of Narnia to the bone (with all the loneliness that that implies), and is simply amazing as a companion for the Doctor here - a true equal.

Why This Must Be Read: It's a rare thing for high school romances to survive beyond high school, and Kat and Patrick were no exception to that. But that doesn't mean that they're out of the game. Meeting again when they're adults might just give them a second chance. I just love this story. Elzed took the characters and really expanded on them, made them grow beyond their identities from the movies. They've matured, while still retaining that special spark they had as young adults. An adorable fic.

Simply brilliant.
